Job Description

Are you looking to start your career in IT? IBM is seeking a motivated and passionate IBM Z Systems Support Apprentice to join our team! In this role, you will be the first line of contact for our customers, providing them with technical support and problem resolution. You will be part of a fast-paced environment, where you will be exposed to the latest IBM technologies. To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills, as well as a customer-focused mindset. You should also be a team player who is comfortable working in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with IBM Z systems, databases, networking, and security. Knowledge of systems engineering principles and a college degree in Computer Science or a related field are also preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support and problem resolution to customers in a timely manner.
  2. Monitor and troubleshoot system issues, using various tools and techniques.
  3. Work with the hardware, software, and network engineering teams to resolve customer issues.
  4. Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IBM Z systems and associated software.
  5. Maintain customer relationships by responding to inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  6. Document customer support requests and resolutions for future reference.
  7. Perform system backup and recovery procedures, as necessary.
  8. Monitor performance and security of IBM Z systems and databases.
  9. Keep abreast of the latest technologies and industry best practices.
  10. Work collaboratively with other IT professionals to ensure customer satisfaction.
