As a Datacenter Technician at IBM, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our datacenter infrastructure to support our clients' critical systems and applications.   1. Monitor and maintain the overall health and performance of the datacenter infrastructure, including servers, storage, network equipment, and power systems.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise in the datacenter, ensuring minimal impact to clients and their systems.
  3. Conduct routine maintenance and upgrades on datacenter equipment to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
  4. Collaborate with other team members and departments to implement and maintain best practices for datacenter operations.
  5. Ensure all datacenter procedures and processes are followed, including security protocols, disaster recovery plans, and change management procedures.
  6. Proactively identify potential areas for improvement and make recommendations to increase efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all datacenter systems and processes.
  8. Monitor and track inventory levels of datacenter equipment and supplies, ordering replacements as needed.
  9. Adhere to company and industry safety standards and protocols while working in the datacenter.
  10. Stay current on industry trends and advancements in datacenter technology, making recommendations for implementation as needed.
  11. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients, addressing any concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
  12. Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve datacenter processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  14. Act as a subject matter expert for datacenter operations, providing guidance and training to other team members as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working In A Datacenter Environment, Preferably With Experience In Server Installation, Maintenance, And Troubleshooting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Networking Protocols And Hardware, Including Routers, Switches, And Firewalls.

  • Experience With Server Virtualization Technologies, Such As Vmware Or Hyper-V.

  • Excellent Problem-Solving And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team In A Fast-Paced Environment.
