  1. Design and develop data platforms to support the company's data analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
  2. Ensure data platforms are efficient, scalable, and secure.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  4. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data engineering to continually improve and innovate our data platforms.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with data platforms in a timely manner.
  6. Monitor and optimize data platforms for performance and cost efficiency.
  7. Develop and maintain data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, processing, and storage.
  8. Work closely with data analysts and data scientists to ensure data platforms meet their needs and support their analyses.
  9. Keep accurate documentation of data platforms and processes.
  10. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and any potential issues.
  11. Mentor and train junior data engineers on best practices and company standards.
  12. Fluent in Japanese to communicate with Japanese-speaking team members and stakeholders.
  13. Adhere to data privacy and security regulations in all data engineering tasks.
  14. Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to data engineering processes and workflows.
  15. Take ownership of data engineering projects and ensure timely delivery.

Job Qualifications

  • Fluent In Japanese And English: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Be Proficient In Both Japanese And English Languages, As They Will Be Responsible For Communicating With Clients, Colleagues, And Stakeholders In Both Languages.

  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field: A Strong Educational Background In Computer Science Or A Related Field Is Essential For This Role. A Master's Degree May Be Preferred For More Senior Positions.

  • Experience In Data Engineering And Data Management: The Candidate Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Data Engineering And Data Management, With A Strong Understanding Of Data Platforms Such As Hadoop, Spark, And Sql Databases.

  • Familiarity With Cloud Computing And Big Data Technologies: Ibm Is A Leader In Cloud Computing And Big Data Technologies, So The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Working With These Technologies And Be Familiar With Ibm's Cloud And Data Platforms.

  • Strong Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills: As A Data Engineer-Data Platforms, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Designing And Implementing Complex Data Solutions. Therefore, A Strong Ability To Analyze And Solve Problems Is A Must For This Role.
