Job Description

As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining data platforms on AWS for our clients. You will be responsible for ensuring that our data infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and efficient to support our clients' business needs.   1. Design and build data platforms on AWS for clients, ensuring reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design solutions that meet client needs.
  3. Implement data engineering best practices and ensure adherence to industry standards.
  4. Develop and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
  5. Monitor and troubleshoot data platform performance and proactively identify and resolve any issues.
  6. Continuously optimize and improve data infrastructure to meet evolving business needs.
  7. Stay updated with latest AWS technologies and incorporate them into data engineering processes.
  8. Ensure data security and compliance with relevant data privacy regulations.
  9. Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  10. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates, insights, and recommendations.
  11. Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support their data needs.
  12. Document data engineering processes, procedures, and solutions.
  13. Proactively identify opportunities for automation and implement efficient solutions.
  14. Contribute to the development of data engineering strategies and roadmaps.
  15. Proactively identify risks and issues and develop mitigation plans.
  16. Maintain an organized and structured approach to data engineering projects.
  17. Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  18. Represent IBM as a subject matter expert in data engineering at conferences and events.

Job Qualifications

  • Proficiency In Aws Cloud Services: A Data Engineer-Data Platforms-Aws Role At Ibm Requires Strong Expertise In Aws Cloud Services Such As Amazon Redshift, Amazon Emr, Amazon S3, And Amazon Glue. The Candidate Must Have Hands-On Experience In Designing, Building, And Maintaining Data Platforms On Aws.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Data Warehousing And Etl Processes: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Data Warehousing Concepts And Experience In Designing And Implementing Etl Processes. This Includes Expertise In Data Modeling, Data Integration, And Data Quality.

  • Strong Programming Skills: A Data Engineer-Data Platforms-Aws Must Possess Strong Programming Skills In Languages Such As Python, Sql, And Scala. They Should Be Able To Write Efficient And Scalable Code To Extract, Transform, And Load Data From Various Sources Into The Data Platform.

  • Experience With Big Data Technologies: Ibm's Data Engineer-Data Platforms-Aws Role Requires Experience With Big Data Technologies Such As Hadoop, Spark, And Kafka. The Candidate Should Have A Good Understanding Of Distributed Systems And Be Able To Work With Large Datasets.

  • Knowledge Of Data Security And Governance: With The Increasing Concerns Around Data Security And Privacy, A Data Engineer-Data Platforms-Aws Must Have Knowledge Of Data Security And Governance Best Practices. This Includes Experience In Implementing Security Measures And Ensuring Compliance With Data Privacy Regulations.
