Oversee all aspects of design and construction for Hyatt properties, ensuring they align with our brand and meet guest expectations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders, to develop and execute design and construction plans.
Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring that all projects are completed within set parameters.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and innovations, and incorporate them into Hyatt's design and construction processes.
Ensure all design and construction projects comply with local building codes and safety regulations.
Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors, including negotiating contracts and managing ongoing collaborations.
Oversee the selection and sourcing of materials, equipment, and furnishings for each project.
Lead and mentor a team of designers and construction professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
Develop and implement design and construction standards and protocols to maintain consistency and quality across all properties.
Regularly assess and report on the progress and success of design and construction projects, making adjustments as needed to meet goals and objectives.
Collaborate with other departments, such as Operations and Marketing, to ensure that all design and construction projects are aligned with overall business objectives.
Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence within the design and construction team.
Represent Hyatt in meetings and presentations with external stakeholders, including investors, partners, and vendors.
Stay within budget and timeline constraints while still delivering high-quality and innovative design and construction projects.

Job Qualifications

Extensive Experience In Design And Construction: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In The Design And Construction Industry, With A Track Record Of Successfully Managing Large-Scale Projects From Conception To Completion.
Strong Leadership And Management Skills: As The Director Of Design And Construction, This Role Requires The Ability To Lead And Manage A Team Of Designers, Architects, And Contractors To Deliver Projects On Time And Within Budget. The Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Effectively Managing And Motivating Teams.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Building Codes And Regulations: The Director Of Design And Construction Must Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Local Building Codes, Regulations, And Standards To Ensure Compliance With All Legal Requirements And Safety Protocols.
Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills: This Role Involves Frequent Communication With Stakeholders, Including Owners, Developers, Contractors, And Government Officials. The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills, As Well As Strong Negotiation Skills To Manage Project Budgets And Timelines Effectively.
Strong Project Management Skills: The Director Of Design And Construction Must Have A Solid Understanding Of Project Management Principles And Methodologies, As Well As Experience In Managing Complex Projects With Multiple Stakeholders. The Candidate Should Be Able To Develop And Implement Project Plans, Monitor Progress, And Make Necessary Adjustments To Ensure Successful Project Delivery.
