  1. Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications to patients accurately and efficiently.
  2. Manage inventory and ensure medications are properly stocked and stored.
  3. Provide exceptional customer service to patients by answering questions and addressing concerns.
  4. Learn and follow all safety protocols and procedures in handling and dispensing medications.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  6. Accurately enter patient information and prescription details into the pharmacy system.
  7. Assist in processing insurance claims and verifying coverage for patients.
  8. Learn and adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations related to pharmacy operations.
  9. Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
  10. Continuously expand knowledge of pharmaceuticals and healthcare industry.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
  12. Complete all assigned tasks and projects in a timely manner.
  13. Attend and actively participate in training sessions and meetings.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  15. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to providing quality care to patients.

Job Qualifications

  • Completion Of A Pharmacy Technician Training Program: A Pharmacy Technician Extern At Humana Should Have Completed A Pharmacy Technician Training Program From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Individual Has A Strong Foundation In Pharmaceutical Knowledge And Is Familiar With Common Pharmacy Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Pharmacy Technician Extern, It Is Important To Have Excellent Communication Skills To Interact With Patients, Pharmacists, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes Being Able To Communicate Effectively In Person, Over The Phone, And Through Written Communication.

  • Basic Computer Skills: With The Increasing Use Of Technology In Pharmacies, A Pharmacy Technician Extern Should Have Basic Computer Skills To Navigate Electronic Health Records, Input And Retrieve Patient Information, And Process Medication Orders.

  • Attention To Detail: Pharmacy Technicians Play A Crucial Role In Ensuring The Accuracy Of Medication Orders. As Such, A Pharmacy Technician Extern Should Possess Strong Attention To Detail To Avoid Errors In Dispensing Medications.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Working In A Pharmacy Can Be Fast-Paced And Demanding. A Pharmacy Technician Extern Should Be Able To Handle A High Volume Of Tasks, Prioritize Effectively, And Work Efficiently Under Pressure.
