  1. Develop and implement strategic plans to improve the clinical pharmacy program at Humana.
  2. Oversee a team of clinical pharmacists and provide direction and guidance to ensure high-quality and effective medication management for members.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative pharmacy strategies that align with Humana's mission.
  4. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and guidelines related to clinical pharmacy.
  5. Monitor and analyze clinical pharmacy data to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions to drive positive outcomes.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers and pharmacy partners, to promote the safe and effective use of medications.
  7. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in clinical pharmacy and integrate them into Humana's practices.
  8. Provide leadership and mentorship to clinical pharmacists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  9. Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and training of clinical pharmacy staff.
  10. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop messaging and materials to promote the clinical pharmacy program to members and the community.

Job Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree In Pharmacy: A National Director, Clinical Pharmacy At Humana Should Hold An Advanced Degree In Pharmacy, Such As A Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Or A Doctor Of Philosophy (Phd) In Pharmacy. This Qualification Demonstrates Extensive Knowledge And Expertise In The Field Of Clinical Pharmacy.

  • Clinical Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Pharmacy Setting, With A Strong Focus On Managed Care And Population Health Management. This Experience Should Include Direct Patient Care, As Well As Leadership Roles In Developing And Implementing Clinical Programs.

Therefore, Strong Leadership Skills Are Essential, Including The Ability To Motivate And Develop Team Members, Make Strategic Decisions, And Effectively Communicate With Stakeholders.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Industry: A Thorough Understanding Of The Healthcare Industry, Particularly In Regards To Pharmacy Benefits, Is Crucial For This Role. The National Director, Clinical Pharmacy Should Possess Knowledge Of Industry Trends, Regulations, And Reimbursement Models, As Well As An Understanding Of How These Factors Impact Clinical Pharmacy Programs.

  • Analytical And Strategic Thinking: Humana Is A Data-Driven Company, And The National Director, Clinical Pharmacy Should Be Able To Analyze And Interpret Data To Inform Decision-Making And Strategy.
