- Provide expert legal guidance and support to clients in the finance industry, specifically in the area of structured products.
- Serve as a senior member of the legal team, utilizing extensive knowledge and experience to advise on complex structured products transactions.
- Collaborate with other legal professionals and business stakeholders to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to stay up-to-date on industry developments and provide proactive advice to mitigate potential risks.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents related to structured products transactions, including contracts, agreements, and disclosures.
- Identify and assess potential legal risks and provide strategic advice to mitigate or resolve issues.
- Participate in meetings and negotiations with clients, external counsel, and other stakeholders to represent the company’s legal interests.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards related to structured products and communicate any updates to relevant teams.
- Mentor and train junior legal team members on structured products and provide guidance on complex legal matters.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and external legal counsel.
Extensive Knowledge Of Structured Products: A Senior Legal Counsel At Hsbc Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Structured Products, Including Derivatives, Securitization, And Structured Finance. This Includes A Thorough Understanding Of Relevant Laws, Regulations, And Market Practices.
Experience In A Similar Role: A Successful Candidate Should Have At Least 8-10 Years Of Experience As A Legal Counsel In The Structured Products Space, Preferably At A Financial Institution. This Experience Should Include Drafting And Negotiating Complex Structured Product Transactions, Providing Legal Advice, And Managing Legal Risks.
Strong Legal Background: A Senior Legal Counsel Should Have A Strong Academic Background In Law, With A Jd Or Equivalent Degree From A Reputable Law School. In Addition, They Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Financial And Securities Laws, As Well As Relevant Regulatory Frameworks.
Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills: This Role Requires Frequent Interaction With Internal Stakeholders, External Clients, And Regulatory Bodies. Therefore, A Senior Legal Counsel Should Possess Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills To Effectively Advocate For Hsbc's Interests And Manage Relationships.
Leadership And Team Management Abilities: As A Senior Member Of The Legal Team, This Role Requires Leadership Skills To Mentor And Manage Junior Team Members. A Successful Candidate Should Have Experience In Leading A Team, Providing Guidance And Support, And Driving Results.
