As the Senior Legal Counsel - Payments at HSBC, you will be joining a global team that plays a critical role in developing the payments landscape across the world. We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong legal background and knowledge of payments and banking. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal advice and guidance on a range of payments and banking matters, ensuring the business operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  2. Monitor and interpret changes in regulations and advise the business on any necessary actions.
  3. Draft and review legal documents related to payments and banking.
  4. Negotiate contract terms with external parties.
  5. Analyze existing and proposed legislation to assess its impact and advise on legal risks.
  6. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  7. Develop and deliver training to internal stakeholders on payments and banking related laws and regulations.
  8. Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations.
  9. Keep abreast of current trends and developments in the payments and banking industry.
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with external legal advisors and other stakeholders.
