  1. Conduct thorough investigations into potential financial crime activities, including but not limited to fraud, money laundering, and terrorist financing.
  2. Stay up-to-date with financial crime regulations and laws, and ensure that all investigations are in compliance with these regulations.
  3. Analyze financial data and transaction patterns to identify potential risks and suspicious activities.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams, such as risk management and compliance, to gather information and assess potential risks.
  5. Utilize various tools and techniques to gather evidence and build a strong case against suspected financial criminals.
  6. Prepare detailed investigative reports and present findings to senior management and relevant authorities.
  7. Monitor and track suspicious activities, conduct follow-up investigations, and make recommendations for mitigating potential risks.
  8. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of financial crime investigations.
  9. Serve as a subject matter expert on financial crime investigations and provide guidance and support to other team members.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of the job.
  11. Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in financial crime prevention and share knowledge with the team.
  12. Uphold the values and code of conduct of the company while carrying out all responsibilities.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge Of Financial Crime Laws And Regulations: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Financial Crime Laws And Regulations At Both Local And Global Levels. This Includes Knowledge Of Anti-Money Laundering (Aml), Counter-Terrorist Financing (Ctf), And Other Relevant Regulatory Frameworks.

  • Strong Analytical And Investigative Skills: Investigating Financial Crimes Requires A Keen Eye For Detail And The Ability To Analyze Large Amounts Of Financial Data. The Candidate Should Have Experience In Conducting Financial Analysis And Be Able To Identify Patterns And Anomalies That Could Indicate Potential Fraud Or Misconduct.

  • Experience In Investigative Reporting: The Role Requires Someone With Experience In Investigative Reporting, Preferably In A Financial Crime Context. This Includes Conducting Interviews, Gathering Evidence, And Writing Detailed Reports That Can Be Used In Legal Proceedings.

  • Communication And Collaboration Skills: As An Investigator, The Candidate Will Need To Work Closely With Internal And External Stakeholders, Such As Law Enforcement Agencies, Regulators, And Other Financial Institutions. Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills Are Essential For Building Relationships And Sharing Information Effectively.

  • Relevant Education And Certifications: A Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Finance, Accounting, Or Criminal Justice Is Typically Required For This Role. In Addition, Certifications And Training In Financial Crime Investigation, Aml, And Fraud Detection Are Highly Valued By Hsbc.
