  1. Develop and maintain the big data platform for HSBC, utilizing your expertise in Python and big data technologies.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement scalable and efficient data pipelines.
  3. Work closely with data scientists and data analysts to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  4. Design and implement data quality and data governance processes to ensure accuracy and consistency of data.
  5. Troubleshoot and debug issues with the big data platform, and provide timely resolutions.
  6. Stay updated with the latest advancements in big data technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve the platform.
  7. Develop and maintain documentation for the big data platform, including data models, data dictionaries, and process flows.
  8. Create and maintain automated testing procedures to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the big data platform.
  9. Mentor and coach junior team members, share best practices and contribute to the overall growth of the team.
  10. Collaborate with other teams within the organization to identify and implement opportunities for data-driven decision making.
  11. Adhere to HSBC's security and compliance policies, ensuring the safety and security of sensitive data.
  12. Participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall code quality of the big data platform.
  13. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide regular updates on project progress and seek feedback for continuous improvement.
  14. Ensure adherence to project timelines and deliverables, working efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  15. Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of the big data platform to ensure scalability and efficiency.

Job Qualifications

  • Proficiency In Python Programming Language: The Primary Requirement For This Role Is A Strong Understanding Of Python, As It Is The Main Programming Language Used For Handling Big Data At Hsbc.

  • Experience With Big Data Technologies: A Big Data Engineer At Hsbc Should Have Experience Working With Technologies Such As Hadoop, Spark, And Kafka, As Well As A Good Understanding Of Data Warehousing And Etl Processes.

  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Hsbc Is Looking For Candidates Who Have A Proven Track Record Of Solving Complex Data-Related Problems, As This Role Requires The Ability To Analyze Large Datasets And Find Effective Solutions.
