Job Description

Serves as a plan reviewer and construction inspector for the Bureau of Utilities. Meets with residential and commercial applicants for water and sewer system installations to provide proper guidance and procedures for the design and construction of water and sewer mains and connections. Manages contractors repairing or replacing existing utility assets such as hydrants, valves, and manholes. Assist and oversee contractors doing leak detection on the existing water system. Reviews and comments on construction plans and specifications for constructability. Authorized to issue suspension of work for faulty workmanship after conferring with superiors.

Job Qualifications

2 year or technical school and related experience and/or training with utility construction and code compliance
Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, methods and techniques of construction inspection.
