Surgery Scheduling Coordinator

Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional with experience in surgery scheduling and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment? Houston Methodist is seeking a Surgery Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the surgical scheduling process. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a passion for providing excellent customer service.To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of two years of experience in surgical scheduling, as well as knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT codes. Additionally, a working knowledge of computer systems, including EPIC and Microsoft Office, is preferred. The successful candidate must also have the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate all aspects of the surgical scheduling process.
2. Maintain and update patient records in EPIC and Microsoft Office.
3. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
4. Ensure accuracy of patient information and medical coding.
5. Schedule appointments and procedures according to patient needs.
6. Resolve scheduling conflicts and prioritize tasks efficiently.
7. Provide excellent customer service to patients and families.
8. Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
9. Maintain confidentiality of patient records.
10. Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
