
Senior Clinical Dietitian
We are looking for an experienced and inspiring Senior Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Houston Methodist. The Senior Clinical Dietitian will provide comprehensive nutrition care and education services to patients and their families, as well as serve as a mentor to junior dietitians. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in nutrition and dietetics, as well as a passion for teaching and helping others.The Senior Clinical Dietitian should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, along with the Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) designation from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. They should have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a clinical dietitian in a hospital or healthcare setting, as well as knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and nutrition education. The ability to work collaboratively and provide effective guidance to junior dietitians is essential. The Senior Clinical Dietitian should also have strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Finally, the successful candidate must possess a positive attitude and a passion for helping patients improve their nutrition and health.
Responsibilities of a Senior Clinical Dietitian:
-Provide comprehensive nutrition care and education services to patients and their families. -Serve as a mentor to junior dietitians. -Ensure adherence to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ ethical principles and standards of practice. -Utilize medical nutrition therapy and nutrition education to create individualized nutrition plans for patients. -Provide guidance and training to junior dietitians. -Manage patient case load and nutrition care plans. -Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to provide patient updates and coordinate nutrition care. -Maintain detailed records of patient visits and progress. -Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families. -Stay up to date on current trends in nutrition and dietetics.
