Job Description

Houston Methodist is in search of an experienced Risk Attorney to join our team. Our ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and dedicated professional with a passion for continuous learning and development. The successful candidate should possess excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong understanding of legal principles and a commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards. Required Qualifications:• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar• Minimum of four years of legal experience, preferably in healthcare law • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare law, including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid• Experience in resolving complex legal matters • Aptitude for developing effective working relationships and managing multiple projects simultaneously• Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and maintain confidentiality• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities:

  1. Research, analyze, and interpret relevant laws and regulations related to healthcare law.
  2. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  3. Monitor legal developments related to healthcare law and advise stakeholders accordingly.
  4. Provide legal advice and counsel to clients and stakeholders related to healthcare law.
  5. Identify, assess, and manage potential risks related to legal matters.
  6. Represent the organization in legal proceedings related to healthcare law.
  7. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to healthcare law.
  8. Maintain and develop relationships with outside counsel and other legal professionals.
  9. Prepare and present reports and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  10. Stay current with changes in the field of healthcare law.
