Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join the healthcare team at Houston Methodist. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a leading healthcare system dedicated to providing the highest quality of patient care. The successful candidate will provide assessments, treatments, and care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, and will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. The ideal candidate will have a Respiratory Care Practitioner license from the state of Texas and be certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care, or be eligible for certification. They will have an associate degree in respiratory care and a minimum of one year of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in a hospital setting. They will also have excellent clinical and communication skills, and be comfortable working as part of a team. Responsibilities:

  1. Assess, treat, and provide care to patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.
  2. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  3. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  4. Provide patient education on cardiopulmonary health and disease prevention.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient care.
  6. Support and adhere to the code of ethics and standards of practice of the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  7. Demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills.
  8. Participate in continuing education activities and professional development opportunities.
