Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery to join our team at Houston Methodist. As an RN - Labor & Delivery, you will be responsible for providing excellent and compassionate care to mothers and newborns during the labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of labor and delivery nursing principles, as well as the ability to work confidently and competently in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.To be successful in this role, you must possess a valid nursing license in the state of Texas, have at least a BSN degree, and have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN in a Labor & Delivery setting. You must also be patient-focused, highly organized, and have excellent communication skills. Responsibilities:

1. Provide excellent and compassionate care to mothers and newborns during the labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.
2. Ensure that labor and delivery nursing principles are followed.
3. Work confidently and competently in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
4. Possess a valid nursing license in the state of Texas.
5. Hold a BSN degree.
6. Have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN in a Labor & Delivery setting.
7. Be patient-focused and highly organized.
8. Possess excellent communication skills.
9. Provide excellent patient care.
10. Monitor labor progress and evaluate health of mother and newborn.
11. Administer medications as needed.
12. Assist with labor induction or augmentation.
13. Provide counseling and education to patients and families.
14. Ensure safety and hygiene in the delivery room.
15. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
