Job Description

The Houston Methodist Public Safety Department is looking for an experienced and motivated Security Training Specialist to join our team. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about safety and security training and has the ability to apply their knowledge to develop and implement comprehensive training initiatives. The successful candidate will have experience in curriculum development and conducting security training courses. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Security, Training, or Education; knowledge of the principles of adult learning and instructional design; experience in the design, development and delivery of training programs; and excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The Security Training Specialist must also have the ability to develop effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive security training programs
  2. Develop curriculum and provide instruction for security training courses
  3. Utilize principles of adult learning and instructional design
  4. Assess training needs and develop plans to meet those needs
  5. Maintain records of training activities and results
  6. Develop relationships with stakeholders
  7. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs
  8. Provide recommendations for improvements to existing security training programs
  9. Remain up-to-date on the latest security industry trends and best practices
