Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Oncologist/Hematologist for Houston Methodist's growing and leading-edge cancer center. The successful candidate will provide exemplary care for patients with cancer and blood disorders, and will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team of providers, including surgeons, radiation oncologists, and other specialized staff. They will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical oncology and hematology care, while maintaining a high level of quality and safety.The ideal candidate will possess an MD degree, be board certified/eligible in medical oncology and hematology, and have experience in the management of adult cancer and blood disorders. They should also have a strong interest in teaching and research. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical skills, compassion for patients and colleagues, and strong communication skills. In addition, they will demonstrate a commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and a culture of respect.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide comprehensive medical oncology and hematology care to patients with cancer and blood disorders.
  2. Participate in a multidisciplinary team of providers, including surgeons, radiation oncologists, and other specialized staff.
  3. Maintain a high level of quality and safety in the care of patients.
  4. Demonstrate excellent clinical skills, compassion for patients and colleagues, and strong communication skills.
  5. Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and a culture of respect.
  6. Participate in teaching and research initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Interpersonal

  • Licensed To Practice Medicine In The State Of Texas

  • Md/Do Degree From An Accredited Medical School

  • Board Certification In Either Medical Oncology

  • Hematology Or Both

  • Fellowship Training In Medical Oncology/Hematology

  • Experience In The Diagnosis And Treatment Of Cancerous And Non-Cancerous Blood Disorders

  • Knowledge Of Current Oncology Treatments And Protocols
