  1. Perform accurate and timely mammogram screenings on patients according to established protocols and procedures.
  2. Operate specialized equipment and software to obtain high-quality images for diagnosis.
  3. Maintain patient records and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  4. Monitor patient reactions during procedures and respond to any adverse reactions or complications.
  5. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate imaging techniques and assist with image interpretation.
  6. Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.
  7. Educate patients about the mammogram procedure and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
  8. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be ordered or equipment needs to be serviced.
  9. Keep abreast of new developments and techniques in mammography and participate in ongoing education and training to maintain current knowledge and skills.
  10. Demonstrate a commitment to providing the highest quality of care to patients and contribute to a positive patient experience.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with maintaining accreditation standards.
  13. Mentor and train new Mammography Technologists as needed.
  14. Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Mammography Technologist Ii At Houston Methodist Must Possess A Valid Certification From The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) In Mammography. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Mammography Procedures Accurately And Safely.

  • Experience: The Ideal Candidate For A Mammography Technologist Ii At Houston Methodist Should Have A Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Mammography. This Experience Should Include Performing A Variety Of Mammography Procedures, Including Diagnostic And Screening Mammograms, Breast Biopsies, And Breast Localization Procedures.

  • Knowledge Of Equipment: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Equipment Used In Mammography, Such As Digital Mammography Machines, Stereotactic Biopsy Systems, And Ultrasound Machines. They Should Also Have Experience Troubleshooting Equipment Issues And Performing Quality Assurance Checks.

  • Communication Skills: As A Mammography Technologist Ii, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Communicating With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Strong Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential. The Candidate Should Be Able To Explain Procedures To Patients And Provide Clear And Accurate Reports To Physicians.

  • Attention To Detail: Mammography Is A Highly Detailed And Precise Procedure, And The Candidate Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure The Accuracy Of Their Work. They Should Be Able To Identify Abnormal Findings On Mammograms And Ensure That All Images Are Of High Quality For Accurate Interpretation By The Radiologist.
