Job Description

Houston Methodist is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented IRB Regulatory Reviewer to join our team. In this role, you will review and evaluate research protocols submitted to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to ensure that studies comply with applicable regulations and institutional policies. We are seeking a candidate who has a strong background in research regulations and a commitment to protecting human subjects.The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as medical research, public health, or bioethics, and at least two years of experience in a research regulatory or compliance role. Additionally, the successful candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of the ethical principles and guidelines governing the use of human subjects in research. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with research teams, investigators, and regulatory agencies.We look forward to hearing from you and learning more about your experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  1. Review and evaluate research protocols submitted to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to ensure that studies comply with applicable regulations and institutional policies.
  2. Analyze and evaluate data from research studies to ensure compliance with ethical principles and guidelines governing the use of human subjects in research.
  3. Work collaboratively with research teams, investigators, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with research protocols.
  4. Provide reports, updates, and presentations to stakeholders on current and upcoming research studies.
  5. Monitor and investigate potential ethical violations in research studies.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Remain up-to-date on changing research regulations and laws.
  8. Assist in the development and implementation of research protocols and procedures.
  9. Ensure the confidentiality of research data and other sensitive information.
