Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and organized Grant Specialist - Grants Administration to join the Houston Methodist team. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strong technical, administrative, and organizational skills to join our Grants Administration team. The Grant Specialist will be responsible for preparing, submitting, and administering grants and contracts from governmental, private, and corporate entities.The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, with at least two years of experience in grant writing, research, and/or project management. An understanding of grant management best practices and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to coordinate complex grant applications and reporting requirements is essential. The ideal candidate will also have a working knowledge of grantor regulations, budgeting, and cost management.We are looking for someone with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. In addition, the successful candidate will have the initiative and enthusiasm to make an immediate impact within our Grants Administration team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare grant applications and reports according to grantor requirements.
  2. Review and analyze grantor regulations to ensure compliance with grantor requirements.
  3. Develop budgets and cost management plans for grant applications.
  4. Monitor and track grant funds to ensure proper utilization.
  5. Coordinate with grantor representatives to maintain compliance with grantor requirements.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with grantors.
  7. Develop and manage grant-related databases and records.
  8. Participate in grant-related activities, such as proposal workshops, conferences, and other networking events.
  9. Assist in the development and implementation of grant processes, policies, and procedures.
  10. Develop and monitor grant-related metrics.
  11. Provide training to other team members on grant management best practices.
  12. Stay abreast of developments in the grant management field.
