Job Description

The EMG Technologist at Houston Methodist will be an integral member of our Neurology team, helping to diagnose and treat neurological disorders. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and technical skills to join our team. The ideal candidate is a healthcare professional with experience in electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS) who is committed to providing exceptional patient care. The EMG Technologist should possess a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as the ability to identify and analyze electromyography and nerve conduction findings. The successful candidate should have strong experience with the setup, operation, and maintenance of EMG and NCS equipment, as well as the ability to effectively interact with patients, staff, and physicians. The required qualifications for the EMG Technologist position include a Bachelor's degree, a registered technologist certification, and a minimum of three years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform EMG and NCS tests to diagnose and treat neurological disorders.
  2. Setup, operate, and maintain EMG and NCS equipment.
  3. Interact with patients, staff, and physicians in a professional manner.
  4. Identify and analyze electromyography and nerve conduction findings.
  5. Understand anatomical and physiological principles.
  6. Contribute to patient care plans and communicate results to physicians.
  7. Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of results.
  8. Follow safety protocols and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

Job Qualifications
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Rdms) Certification

  • Current Certification As An Electrocardiogram (Ekg) Technologist

  • Current Certification In Basic Life Support (Bls) From The American Heart Association (Aha)

  • Previous Experience In A Medical Setting

  • Previous Experience In Electromyography (Emg) Testing

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Medical Equipment

  • Ability To Work With Patients Of All Ages
