Responsibilities of an Echo Sonographer:
- Perform cardiac diagnostic studies using echocardiography according to established protocols and safety procedures.
- Provide accurate and timely results of echocardiography studies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure patient rights are protected.
- Follow department policies and procedures in order to ensure quality patient care.
- Collaborate with other members of the medical team to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, clinical, and decision-making skills.
- Remain current on all safety protocols and procedures.
- Ensure that the equipment is in proper working order and report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain patient records and documentation in accordance with established policies.
- Educate patients and family members on echocardiography procedures.
