Responsibilities of an Echo Sonographer:

  1. Perform cardiac diagnostic studies using echocardiography according to established protocols and safety procedures.
  2. Provide accurate and timely results of echocardiography studies.
  3. Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure patient rights are protected.
  4. Follow department policies and procedures in order to ensure quality patient care.
  5. Collaborate with other members of the medical team to ensure high-quality patient care.
  6. Demonstrate excellent communication, clinical, and decision-making skills.
  7. Remain current on all safety protocols and procedures.
  8. Ensure that the equipment is in proper working order and report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate personnel.
  9. Maintain patient records and documentation in accordance with established policies.
  10. Educate patients and family members on echocardiography procedures.
