Job Description

Houston Methodist is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Director of Nursing to lead our Acute Care department.   1. Lead the Acute Care department: The primary responsibility of the Director of Nursing will be to oversee and manage the Acute Care department at Houston Methodist. This includes developing and implementing strategies to improve patient outcomes, managing resources effectively, and ensuring the smooth operation of the department.
  2. Provide exceptional patient care: The Director of Nursing will be responsible for ensuring that the highest quality of patient care is delivered by the Acute Care department. This includes setting and maintaining standards of care, monitoring patient satisfaction, and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
  3. Manage a team of nurses: This role will involve leading a team of nurses and ensuring that they are well-trained, engaged, and motivated to provide excellent patient care. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating staff, as well as managing their schedules and workload.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships: As a trusted healthcare organization in Houston, it is essential for the Director of Nursing to establish and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare providers. This includes collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution: A Director Of Nursing - Acute Care Should Have A Strong Educational Background In Nursing To Effectively Lead And Oversee Clinical Operations.

  • Current And Valid Nursing License: This Position Requires A Valid Nursing License From The State Of Texas, Ensuring That The Individual Has Met All Necessary Requirements To Practice Nursing.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Acute Care Nursing: A Director Of Nursing - Acute Care Should Have A Significant Amount Of Experience In Managing And Overseeing Nursing Operations In An Acute Care Setting.

  • Leadership And Management Skills: This Role Requires Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage And Mentor A Team Of Nurses And Support Staff, As Well As The Ability To Make Strategic Decisions And Manage Resources.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations And Standards: A Director Of Nursing - Acute Care Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Healthcare Regulations And Standards, Including Joint Commission Accreditation, To Ensure Compliance And Quality Of Care.
