  1. Develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure major donations and support the mission and vision of Houston Methodist.
  2. Create and maintain relationships with major donors and prospects, including individuals, corporations, and foundations, to cultivate and steward their support.
  3. Collaborate with the leadership team, board members, and other key stakeholders to identify and engage potential major donors and secure their support.
  4. Manage a portfolio of major donors, including developing personalized cultivation and solicitation plans and stewardship strategies.
  5. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Houston Methodist's programs, services, and impact to effectively communicate the organization's mission and funding needs to donors.
  6. Work closely with the marketing and communications team to develop compelling fundraising materials and campaigns to engage and inspire donors.
  7. Provide leadership and guidance to the development team to ensure effective and efficient major gift fundraising efforts.
  8. Utilize data and analytics to track and measure the success of major gift fundraising efforts, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.
  9. Represent Houston Methodist at events, conferences, and other public engagements to promote the organization and engage potential major donors.
  10. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in major gift fundraising and implement new strategies to enhance fundraising efforts.
  11. Maintain accurate and timely records of donor interactions and donations in the fundraising database.
  12. Adhere to ethical fundraising practices and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  13. Collaborate with other departments and teams within Houston Methodist to identify and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships and collaborations.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities to expand the donor base and increase revenue through major gift fundraising.
  15. Act as a passionate and enthusiastic ambassador for Houston Methodist, promoting its mission and values in all interactions and communications.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In A Related Field Such As Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Or Fundraising.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Major Gifts Fundraising, Preferably In A Healthcare Or Academic Setting.

  • Proven Track Record Of Securing Major Gifts Of $100,000 Or More From Individual Donors.

  • Strong Understanding Of Fundraising Principles And Best Practices, Including Prospect Research, Cultivation, Solicitation, And Stewardship.

  • Excellent Communication And Relationship-Building Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Engage And Inspire Donors, Volunteers, And Other Stakeholders.
