  1. Accurately maintain and update cancer patient records and data in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient information.
  3. Conduct audits to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  4. Utilize specialized software and tools to record and report cancer data.
  5. Analyze and interpret cancer data to identify trends and patterns.
  6. Stay current with industry changes and updates in cancer registry standards and guidelines.

  8. Provide support and assistance to healthcare professionals in utilizing cancer data for research and quality improvement initiatives.

  10. Participate in educational and training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in cancer registry practices.
  11. Serve as a resource for colleagues and healthcare team members on cancer registry-related matters.
  12. Contribute to the overall mission and goals of the cancer center by ensuring accurate and complete cancer data collection.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Tumor Registrar (Ctr) Certification: The First And Most Important Qualification For A Certified Tumor Registrar Job At Houston Methodist Is Having A Valid Ctr Certification. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Accurately Collect, Analyze, And Report Cancer Data.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field: A Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or A Related Field Such As Biology, Nursing, Or Public Health Is Often Required For A Ctr Position At Houston Methodist.
