- Perform surgical procedures on patients with breast diseases, including mastectomies, lumpectomies, and lymph node removals.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans for breast cancer patients.
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients to determine the best course of treatment.
- Educate patients and their families about breast cancer, treatment options, and post-surgery care.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest developments and advancements in breast surgery and treatment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of all procedures and patient interactions.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols in the operating room and other clinical settings.
- Monitor and manage post-operative care and follow-up appointments for patients.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and their families, providing emotional support and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Participate in research and clinical trials related to breast cancer treatment and care.
- Mentor and train medical students, residents, and fellows in breast surgery techniques and best practices.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Continuously strive for excellence in patient care and outcomes, seeking ways to improve and innovate in the field of breast surgery.
Medical Degree: A Breast Surgeon At Houston Methodist Must Possess A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.
Board Certification: Candidates For This Position Must Be Board Certified Or Eligible For Certification By The American Board Of Surgery (Abs) Or The American Board Of Medical Specialties (Abms).
Fellowship Training: Houston Methodist Requires Breast Surgeons To Have Completed A Fellowship In Breast Surgery Or A Related Field, Such As Surgical Oncology Or Breast Reconstruction.
Licensure: Candidates Must Hold A Valid Medical License In The State Of Texas, Or Be Eligible For Licensure In The State.
Experience: Ideal Candidates Will Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Breast Surgery, With A Proven Track Record Of Successful Surgeries And Patient Outcomes. Experience With The Latest Techniques And Technologies In Breast Surgery Is Also Preferred.
