Job Description

At Houston Methodist, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Athletic Trainer to join our team of professionals who are dedicated to providing excellent healthcare. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced athletic trainer with a passion for helping others and a commitment to providing the highest quality care.The Athletic Trainer will work closely with a variety of healthcare professionals to identify and address the needs of injured athletes. This individual will develop individualized treatment plans and provide instruction and counseling on injury prevention and rehabilitation. The Athletic Trainer will also evaluate athletes for injury, administer first aid and emergency care, and refer athletes to appropriate medical personnel when necessary.The successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from an accredited program as well as a current certification from the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC). The candidate must also have additional certifications in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Basic Life Support. Additionally, experience in a clinical or sports medicine setting is preferred.We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated, organized, and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will also be patient, compassionate, and have a positive attitude. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop individualized treatment plans for injured athletes.
  2. Administer first aid and emergency care, and refer athletes to appropriate medical personnel when necessary.
  3. Evaluate athletes for injury,
  4. Provide instruction and counseling on injury prevention and rehabilitation.
  5. Work closely with a variety of healthcare professionals to identify and address the needs of injured athletes.
  6. Maintain current certifications in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Basic Life Support.
  7. Maintain accurate records of athletes’ injuries and treatments.
  8. Remain up-to-date on advances in the field of athletic training.
  9. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  10. Possess a positive attitude and be patient and compassionate.
