Job Description

The Houston Methodist Foundation is currently seeking an experienced Annual Gift Officer to provide leadership and support in its fundraising efforts to continue its mission to provide excellent patient care, cutting-edge research, and world-class education. This position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who is passionate about advancing philanthropic priorities and inspiring others to give. The Annual Gift Officer will serve as an ambassador for the Foundation, cultivating relationships with current donors and prospects while managing a personal portfolio of major gift prospects and donors.The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful major gift fundraising, with at least 5 years of experience in an annual or major gift setting. A Bachelor’s degree is required, and a working knowledge of database systems and fundraising principles is preferred. We are looking for a team player who is driven to succeed and enthusiastic about the mission of Houston Methodist.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward major and annual gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations, and other organizations.
  2. Create and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors.
  3. Engage in face-to-face visits, phone calls, and written correspondence with current and potential donors to build relationships and advance philanthropic priorities.
  4. Manage and track all major gift solicitations and acknowledgements.
  5. Prepare comprehensive donor proposals and solicitation materials.
  6. Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders to ensure donor engagement and satisfaction.
  7. Analyze donor data and trends to identify potential giving opportunities.
  8. Track all major gift activity and provide regular reports on progress and results.
  9. Represent the Foundation in a professional and positive manner to all stakeholders.
  10. Participate in networking events and other development activities to increase visibility and identify new prospects.
