  1. Lead and oversee the Allergy and Immunology program at Houston Methodist.
  2. Develop and implement a comprehensive and innovative curriculum for the program.
  3. Work closely with the team of physicians, researchers, and educators to ensure the program meets the highest standards of excellence.
  4. Provide mentorship and guidance to trainees, including residents and fellows, to support their growth and development.
  5. Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment that promotes diversity and cultural competence.
  6. Stay current with advancements in the field of Allergy and Immunology and incorporate them into the program.
  7. Promote and facilitate research opportunities for trainees and participate in research projects.
  8. Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards for the program.
  9. Collaborate with other departments and institutions to enhance the program's offerings and opportunities.
  10. Engage in academic activities, including teaching, presenting at conferences, and publishing research findings.
  11. Participate in evaluating and selecting applicants for the program.
  12. Represent the program and Houston Methodist in professional organizations and events.
  13. Act as a liaison between the program, trainees, and other departments and institutions.
  14. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and actively seek ways to enhance the program's effectiveness and impact.
  15. Serve as a role model for trainees, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in education, research, and clinical practice.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree And Board Certification: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Possess A Medical Degree (Md Or Do) And Be Board Certified In Allergy And Immunology. This Ensures The Individual Has The Necessary Knowledge And Training To Oversee And Teach In The Program.

  • Clinical Experience: A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Clinical Experience In The Field Of Allergy And Immunology Is Typically Required For This Position. This Ensures The Candidate Has A Strong Understanding Of The Field And Can Effectively Train And Mentor Residents And Fellows.

  • Academic Credentials: A Successful Candidate Should Have A Strong Academic Background, With A History Of Research And Publication In The Field Of Allergy And Immunology. This Demonstrates A Commitment To Academic Excellence And The Ability To Contribute To The Program's Scholarly Activities.

  • Leadership And Teaching Experience: As The Program Director, The Individual Will Be Responsible For Overseeing And Managing The Educational Program. Therefore, Experience In Leadership And Teaching Roles, Such As Serving As A Residency Or Fellowship Program Director, Is Highly Desired.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Faculty, Staff, Residents, And Fellows. This Includes The Ability To Provide Constructive Feedback, Resolve Conflicts, And Foster A Positive Learning Environment.
