Export Compliance Officer

We are looking for an experienced Export Compliance Officer with a passion for working on global trade compliance initiatives to join our team here at Hewlett-Packard/HP. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that HP’s international trade activities are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. This role requires an individual who is highly organized, analytical, and is able to work independently with minimal supervision.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in international business, law, or a related field• At least 5 years of experience in international trade, export compliance, and/or compliance management• Knowledge of the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)• Working knowledge of US and international laws and regulations related to international trade• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously• Proven ability to research, analyze, and interpret legal documents and regulations

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain effective export compliance programs that meet all applicable US and international laws and regulations

• Monitor and review all international trade activities to ensure compliance with US and international law • Analyze and interpret legal documents and regulations related to export compliance • Track changes in export compliance regulations and ensure that all applicable laws and regulations are followed • Prepare and submit reports to government agencies and other regulatory bodies as required • Develop and implement training programs for staff on export compliance issues • Assist in developing corporate policies and procedures related to export compliance • Monitor and audit shipments to ensure compliance with export laws and regulations • Maintain accurate records of export transactions • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with export regulations and requirements
