Certified Dietary Manager (Cdm) Credential: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Current And Valid Cdm Credential From The Association Of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (Anfp). This Certification Demonstrates Knowledge And Expertise In Managing Dietary Operations In Healthcare Facilities.
Experience In Healthcare Foodservice: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Foodservice Setting, Preferably In A Supervisory Or Management Role. This Experience Should Include Knowledge Of Food Safety Regulations, Menu Planning, And Special Dietary Needs Of Patients.
Strong Leadership Skills: The Cdm Should Possess Strong Leadership Skills And Be Able To Effectively Manage And Motivate A Team Of Dietary Staff. They Should Also Have Experience In Hiring, Training, And Evaluating Employees To Ensure High-Quality Service And Compliance With Company Policies And Procedures.
Knowledge Of Dietary Guidelines And Regulations: The Cdm Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Dietary Guidelines And Regulations Set By The Centers For Medicare And Medicaid Services (Cms) And Other Regulatory Bodies. This Includes Knowledge Of Menu Planning, Food Safety, And Sanitation Standards.
Communication And Organizational Skills: Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills Are Essential For A Cdm. They Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Healthcare Staff, And Management. They Should Also Be Able To Manage Multiple Tasks And Prioritize Responsibilities To Ensure Efficient And Effective Dietary Operations.
