Plant Accountant

This role will be responsible to record and maintain the records of the company's plant assets, by cost, description, quantity and physical location. Unitizes plant additions and retirements in compliance with the NARUC uniform system of accounts, generally accepted accounting principles and company policy. Prepares monthly retirement and plant addition journal entries, cost of removal and gross salvage adjusting entries to ensure that these amounts are properly classified and charged to the correct end activities. Provides guidance and consultation regarding plant account classification and capital versus expense classifications. Maintains permanent records of the company’s fixed assets.
