- Receive and organize incoming merchandise shipments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure all merchandise is properly labeled and priced according to company standards.
- Stock shelves and displays with merchandise, ensuring proper placement and organization.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any discrepancies or low stock situations to management.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including backroom and storage areas.
- Assist customers in locating products and answering any questions they may have.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move merchandise as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines when handling merchandise and operating equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding any issues or concerns related to stocking and inventory.
- Participate in regular inventory counts and assist with restocking and replenishing as needed.
- Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Stay up-to-date on product knowledge to accurately answer customer questions and make recommendations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to, safety, attendance, and dress code.
Physical Stamina And Strength: Stocking Associates Must Be Able To Lift And Carry Heavy Items, Stand For Long Periods Of Time, And Perform Physically Demanding Tasks Such As Moving Pallets And Boxes.
Attention To Detail: Stocking Associates Are Responsible For Ensuring That Merchandise Is Properly Placed And Displayed On Shelves, So They Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Follow Specific Instructions.
Organizational Skills: With A Large Inventory Of Products, Stocking Associates Must Be Able To Keep Track Of What Items Need To Be Restocked And Where They Should Be Placed On The Sales Floor.
Time Management: Retail Stores Have Busy And Fast-Paced Environments, So Stocking Associates Must Be Able To Work Efficiently And Prioritize Tasks To Meet Deadlines And Keep The Shelves Well-Stocked.
Customer Service Skills: While Stocking Shelves, Associates May Interact With Customers, So They Must Have Good Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Assist And Answer Any Questions Or Concerns.
