- Design and develop software solutions for our Observability platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize observability requirements.
- Conduct research and stay updated on emerging technologies and tools related to observability.
- Implement best practices and standards for monitoring, logging, and tracing across our systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance and reliability.
- Develop and maintain documentation for our observability platform.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Continuously improve the scalability and efficiency of our systems through automation and monitoring.
- Mentor and guide junior team members in software engineering best practices and observability techniques.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure consistency and alignment in observability practices across the organization.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide support and troubleshooting for production systems.
- Proactively identify and address potential issues to maintain the stability and performance of our systems.
- Adhere to coding standards and ensure code quality through testing and code reviews.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and any potential roadblocks.
Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science Or Related Field: A Strong Foundation In Computer Science Principles And Programming Languages Is Essential For A Software Engineer In Observability Engineering.
Proficiency In Monitoring And Logging Tools: Candidates Should Have Experience With Industry-Standard Monitoring And Logging Tools Such As Prometheus, Grafana, And Elk Stack, As Well As The Ability To Troubleshoot And Maintain These Systems.
Experience With Cloud Technologies: Knowledge Of Cloud Platforms Such As Aws, Gcp, Or Azure Is Crucial For A Software Engineer In Observability Engineering, As Many Of The Systems They Will Be Working With Are Likely To Be Deployed In The Cloud.
Understanding Of Distributed Systems: As Observability Engineering Involves Monitoring And Troubleshooting Complex Distributed Systems, Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Distributed Systems Concepts And Experience Working With Them.
