Job Description

  1. Design and implement privacy controls to protect user data.
  2. Conduct privacy impact assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.
  3. Stay up-to-date on the latest privacy laws and regulations.
  4. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure privacy is integrated into all stages of product development.
  5. Lead and mentor a team of privacy engineers.
  6. Communicate privacy best practices and requirements to cross-functional teams.
  7. Conduct privacy trainings for employees to increase awareness and understanding.
  8. Participate in privacy audits and compliance reviews.
  9. Monitor and assess privacy risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  10. Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure privacy policies and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
  11. Identify and implement privacy-enhancing technologies.
  12. Conduct regular reviews of data protection practices and make recommendations for improvement.
  13. Serve as a subject matter expert on privacy matters for the company.
  14. Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure privacy standards are met.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve privacy processes and procedures to ensure the highest level of protection for user data.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge Of Privacy Regulations: A Senior Privacy Engineer At Gusto Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Various Privacy Regulations Such As Gdpr, Ccpa, And Hipaa. They Should Be Able To Interpret And Apply These Regulations To Gusto's Products And Services.

  • Experience In Privacy Engineering: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Privacy Engineering, Preferably In A Fast-Paced Environment. They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Implementing Privacy Controls And Processes To Ensure Compliance.

  • Strong Technical Background: A Senior Privacy Engineer Should Have A Strong Technical Background With A Degree In Computer Science, Engineering, Or A Related Field. They Should Have Experience With Relevant Technologies Such As Data Encryption, Data Masking, And Data Anonymization.

  • Attention To Detail: Privacy Is All About Attention To Detail, And A Senior Privacy Engineer Should Be Meticulous In Their Work. They Should Be Able To Identify And Analyze Potential Privacy Risks And Recommend Appropriate Solutions To Mitigate Them.
