Resume/CV Screening
Resume screening is the process of evaluating a job candidate’s resume or CV to decide if further consideration is warranted. The objective of this process is to identify those job seekers who have the education, training, work experience, and personal qualifications that best match the requirements of a job vacancy. Usually, resumes and CVs are reviewed by a human resources practitioner, a recruiter, the hiring manager or a screening committee. Depending on the recruitment process, the resume/CV screening may involve evaluating the relevance of the candidate’s experience to the job requirements, scoring resumes/CVs according to specific criteria, or verifying information provided by the job seeker. The outcome of this process helps recruiters to decide which candidates to move forward with in the screening process.
