Job Description

Georgia-Pacific is looking for a highly motivated Purchasing Manager to join our team. This position requires a blend of strong interpersonal skills, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of the purchasing process. The successful candidate will be able to manage a team of buyers, navigate complex supply chains, negotiate agreements, and continually strive for improved efficiency.The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Purchasing, plus at least 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Experience with SAP, or similar ERP system, is essential. They must also have a proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.The successful Purchasing Manager will have excellent strategic planning, problem solving, and communication skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. They will also be highly organized and have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a team of buyers and suppliers to ensure purchasing goals are met
  2. Negotiate agreements with suppliers to obtain best possible pricing
  3. Utilize SAP or similar ERP system to manage purchasing processes
  4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  5. Identify and resolve any purchasing issues that arise
  6. Develop and implement strategies for improved efficiency and cost reduction
  7. Monitor and analyze purchasing trends and data to identify areas of improvement
  8. Prepare and present reports to senior management
  9. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations
  10. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
