
Process Control Engineer
Georgia-Pacific is looking for an experienced and innovative Process Control Engineer to join our team and provide expertise in the area of process control engineering. This position requires a high degree of technical skill and expertise in the areas of process control systems, instrumentation, and optimization of process operations. The ideal candidate is a problem solver with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who is committed to providing innovative solutions to ensure safe and successful operations. The successful Process Control Engineer must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field as well as three or more years of experience in process control engineering. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have experience with plant automation systems and process optimization, as well as a working knowledge of DeltaV, OPC/DCS systems, and distributed control systems. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis, as well as a commitment to safety and environmental compliance. Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain process control systems and instrumentation for safe and successful operations.
- Monitor plant automation systems and optimize process operations to maximize efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and analyze root causes of any process control issues.
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Mentor and train colleagues on process control systems and instrumentation.
- Liaise with other departments and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Manage and support process control engineering projects.
- Develop innovative solutions to improve process control and operations.
- Monitor performance of process control systems and take corrective action when necessary.
- Document process control system configuration and operation procedures.
