- Perform high-quality welding on various types of pipes, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to accurately complete welding tasks.
- Use various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to join pipes and fittings.
- Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of pipes before welding.
- Follow welding procedures and safety protocols to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Inspect and test welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any welding issues that may arise during the production process.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store welding equipment and tools.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and techniques to continuously improve welding skills.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and quality standards.
- Complete necessary documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Train and mentor junior welders and apprentices as needed.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow.
- Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned by management.
Certification: A Pipe Welder -Journeyman At General Dynamics Must Have A Valid Certification In Pipe Welding From A Recognized Institution Or Organization.
Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Pipe Welding, Preferably In A Manufacturing Or Industrial Setting.
Knowledge Of Welding Techniques And Standards: A Thorough Understanding Of Welding Techniques, Safety Procedures, And Industry Standards Is Essential For This Role.
Physical Fitness: As A Pipe Welder, The Candidate Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Work In A Variety Of Environments, Including Confined Spaces And At Heights.
