Job Qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): A Cdl Is A Requirement For Operating Large Vehicles Such As Trucks And Buses, Which Are Commonly Used By General Dynamics. This License Ensures That The Driver Has The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Operate These Vehicles Safely And Efficiently.

  • Mechanical Knowledge And Experience: A Driver Mechanic Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Vehicle Mechanics And Be Able To Troubleshoot And Repair Any Mechanical Issues That May Arise. This Includes Knowledge Of Engines, Transmissions, And Other Vehicle Components.

  • Experience With Military Vehicles: As A Defense Contractor, General Dynamics Often Works With Military Vehicles. Therefore, A Driver Mechanic Should Have Experience Operating And Maintaining Military Vehicles, Which May Have Different Specifications And Requirements Compared To Civilian Vehicles.

  • Safety And Compliance Training: Safety Is A Top Priority At General Dynamics, And All Employees Are Expected To Adhere To Safety Protocols And Regulations. A Driver Mechanic Should Have Completed Safety And Compliance Training, Including Defensive Driving And Hazardous Materials Handling.

  • Physical Fitness: Operating And Maintaining Large Vehicles Can Be Physically Demanding, So A Driver Mechanic Should Be In Good Physical Condition. This Includes The Ability To Lift Heavy Objects, Work In Various Weather Conditions, And Stand Or Sit For Extended Periods.
