- Manage and analyze revenue and billing for multiple projects within the organization.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures related to revenue and billing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes and systems.
- Utilize expert knowledge of GAAP to ensure proper revenue recognition and billing practices.
- Work closely with project managers and other team members to prepare and review project budgets and forecasts.
- Develop and maintain financial reports and analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Monitor and report on project financial performance, identifying trends and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and collections for all project activities.
- Conduct regular reviews of project contracts to ensure alignment with revenue and billing processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for revenue and billing processes, providing guidance and training to team members as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulations related to project accounting, revenue recognition, and billing.
- Participate in financial audits and prepare necessary documentation and reports.
- Proactively identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to revenue and billing.
- Assist with the development and implementation of new financial systems and tools.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff to ensure they have a thorough understanding of revenue and billing processes.
Extensive Experience In Project Accounting And Revenue Recognition: A Senior Project Accountant At General Atomics Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Project Accounting Principles And Revenue Recognition Standards, Such As Asc 606. They Should Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role.
Strong Knowledge Of Gaap And Accounting Standards: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Gaap) And Other Relevant Accounting Standards. They Should Be Able To Apply These Principles To Complex Revenue And Billing Scenarios.
Ability To Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously: General Atomics Deals With A High Volume Of Projects, And The Senior Project Accountant Must Be Able To Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously. This Requires Excellent Organizational And Time Management Skills.
Advanced Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Senior Project Accountant Must Have Strong Analytical Skills To Review And Interpret Complex Financial Data. They Should Also Have The Ability To Identify And Resolve Issues Related To Revenue And Billing In A Timely Manner.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Senior Member Of The Accounting Team, The Senior Project Accountant Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams, Including Project Managers, Sales, And Legal Teams.
