Safety Engineer
Collecting, packaging, labeling of hazardous waste and signing manifests. Providing oversight to hazardous waste storage areas including weekly inspections. Providing hazardous waste assistance for routine and non-routine flight operations activities. Perform life safety equipment inspections which include fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, first aid kits, Automatic External Defibrillators and spill kits. Completing petroleum tank inspections. Verifying hazardous material inventories and updates to the MSDS Online database and Hazardous Material Business Plan inventory. Developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for hazardous tasks to prevent injuries. Conducting ergonomic assessments for office and production environments. Performing hazard assessments in offices, hangars and production facilities.
5+ years of related experience
Prefer to have forklift experience, or be willing to learn how to operate one soon after they start
Ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
