Materials Engineer

Operates and maintains high vacuum coating systems. Maintains coating schedule and resolves scheduling conflicts by communicating with the appropriate target fabrication engineers. Applies technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned engineering problems. Performs functional testing and troubleshooting of coating equipment and systems by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles. Obtains and analyzes coating data using a variety of characterization techniques such as profilometry and microscopy. Develops appropriate documentation of findings and implemented solutions. May be required to make brief technical presentations. May provide direction to design and/or technical staff. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
