Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop embedded systems and controls architecture for next-generation systems.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and specifications for embedded systems and controls.
  3. Conduct research and evaluate new technologies to enhance system performance and functionality.
  4. Perform system analysis and testing to ensure compliance with design requirements and standards.
  5. Create detailed documentation and reports to communicate design decisions and recommendations.
  6. Troubleshoot and debug issues in embedded systems and controls, and provide timely solutions.
  7. Develop and maintain system models and simulations to aid in design and testing.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in embedded systems and controls technology.
  9. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers on best practices and procedures.
  10. Collaborate with external partners and vendors to integrate third-party components into the system.
  11. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
  12. Participate in project planning and scheduling to ensure timely delivery of products.
  13. Support the development and implementation of quality control processes for embedded systems and controls.
  14. Proactively identify and address potential risks and issues in the design and development process.
  15. Continuously improve and optimize embedded systems and controls to enhance system performance and reliability.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Electrical Engineering Or A Related Field: A Strong Foundation In Electrical Engineering Principles Is Essential For An Engineer To Design And Develop Embedded Systems And Control Architectures.

  • Experience With Embedded Systems Design And Programming: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Embedded Systems Hardware And Software, As Well As Experience With Programming Languages Such As C, C++, And Python.

  • Knowledge Of Control Systems And Algorithms: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Developing Control Systems And Algorithms For Various Applications, As Well As A Strong Understanding Of Control Theory.

  • Familiarity With Industry Standards And Regulations: General Atomics Is A Leading Company In The Aerospace And Defense Industry, And As Such, The Candidate Should Have Knowledge Of Relevant Industry Standards And Regulations.

  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: As An Engineer At General Atomics, The Candidate Will Be Expected To Troubleshoot And Solve Complex Technical Issues Related To Embedded Systems And Control Architectures. Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills Are A Must For This Role.
