- Perform composite layup and fabrication processes according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Use hand and power tools, as well as measuring instruments, to accurately fabricate and assemble composite components.
- Operate and maintain equipment, such as autoclaves and ovens, used in the composite fabrication process.
- Monitor and document processes and procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the fabrication process.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop and improve composite fabrication techniques and processes.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent contamination and ensure efficient workflow.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on composite fabrication techniques and processes.
- Continuously learn and stay updated on new composite materials, processes, and technologies.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Participate in team meetings and provide feedback to improve overall production and quality.
- Follow company policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and regulations.
- Meet production targets and deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth workflow and project success.
Experience With Composite Materials: Candidates For This Role Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Composite Materials, Including Knowledge Of Their Properties, Fabrication Techniques, And Repair Procedures.
Knowledge Of Industry Standards: General Atomics May Require Candidates To Have Familiarity With Industry Standards For Composite Materials, Such As As9100 Or Nadcap Certifications.
Technical Skills: Composite Technicians Should Be Proficient In Using Hand And Power Tools, As Well As Equipment Such As Autoclaves, Ovens, And Presses. They Should Also Have Experience With Reading And Interpreting Technical Drawings And Specifications.
Attention To Detail: Composite Technicians Need To Be Meticulous And Detail-Oriented In Order To Ensure The Quality And Precision Of Their Work. This Includes The Ability To Follow Strict Manufacturing Processes And Document All Steps Taken.
