Job Description

General Atomics is seeking a Business Continuity Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our business continuity plans to ensure the continuity of critical operations in the face of potential disruptions. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a solid understanding of risk management.   1. Develop and maintain comprehensive business continuity plans to ensure the organization's critical operations can continue in the event of disruptions or disasters.
  2. Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities to the organization's operations and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  3. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to gather information, assess potential risks, and develop contingency plans.
  4. Conduct regular risk assessments and business impact analyses to ensure plans are up-to-date and effective.
  5. Communicate and train employees on business continuity plans and procedures to ensure they are aware and prepared in the event of a disruption.
  6. Coordinate and conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness and readiness of the business continuity plans.
  7. Monitor and evaluate the organization's business continuity strategies and make recommendations for improvement.
  8. Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to business continuity planning.
  9. Serve as a point of contact for all business continuity related inquiries and provide guidance and support to employees and stakeholders.
  10. Prepare reports and presentations on the organization's business continuity plans and progress for senior management and other stakeholders.
  11. Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure their business continuity plans align with the organization's plans.
  12. Maintain documentation and records of all business continuity plans and activities for audit purposes.
  13. Act as a liaison with local emergency management agencies and participate in disaster response and recovery efforts as needed.
  14. Continuously monitor and assess the organization's level of resilience and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
  15. Assist with other risk management and emergency preparedness initiatives as directed by management.

Job Qualifications
  • Relevant Education Or Certification: A Business Continuity Specialist At General Atomics Should Have A College Degree In Business, Information Technology, Or A Related Field. Alternatively, They Should Possess Relevant Professional Certifications Such As Cbcp (Certified Business Continuity Professional) Or Mbci (Member Of The Business Continuity Institute).

  • Experience In Business Continuity Planning: Candidates For This Role Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Developing And Implementing Business Continuity Plans. They Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Risk Assessment, Business Impact Analysis, And Emergency Response Protocols.

  • Knowledge Of Industry Standards And Regulations: A Business Continuity Specialist At General Atomics Should Be Familiar With Relevant Industry Standards And Regulations, Such As Iso 22301, Nfpa 1600, And Fema Guidelines. They Should Also Have Experience In Conducting Audits And Ensuring Compliance With These Standards.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Analyze Complex Data And Identify Potential Risks And Vulnerabilities. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Develop And Implement Effective Solutions To Mitigate These Risks And Ensure Business Continuity.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: A Business Continuity Specialist Should Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills And Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Stakeholders At All Levels Of The Organization. They Should Also Be Able To Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams To Develop And Implement Business Continuity Plans And Procedures.
