As a Staff Engineer specializing in Vulnerability Management Automation for our Platform and Tools team, you will play a vital role in securing our company's infrastructure and data. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated processes for vulnerability scanning and remediation across our virtual machines (VMs). We are seeking a highly skilled individual with a deep understanding of vulnerability management, automation, and VMs. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for staying ahead of emerging threats.   1. Develop and implement automated processes for vulnerability scanning and remediation of virtual machines (VMs) within Geico's infrastructure.
  2. Design and maintain efficient and effective processes for identifying and addressing potential security vulnerabilities.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate implementation of vulnerability management procedures.
  4. Stay current on emerging threats and industry best practices in vulnerability management and automation.
  5. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and provide recommendations for remediation.
  6. Monitor and analyze vulnerability scan results to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  7. Communicate with stakeholders and provide regular updates on the status of vulnerability management processes.
  8. Work closely with the Platform and Tools team to integrate vulnerability management processes into the overall security strategy.
  9. Train and educate team members on vulnerability management procedures and automation tools.
  10. Maintain accurate documentation of all vulnerability management processes and procedures.
  11. Participate in incident response activities related to vulnerabilities and potential security breaches.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve vulnerability management processes to ensure the highest level of security for Geico's infrastructure and data.
  13. Collaborate with external security vendors and researchers to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
  14. Serve as a subject matter expert on vulnerability management and automation for Geico's IT department.
  15. Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure timely completion with a high level of accuracy.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge And Experience With Vulnerability Management Tools And Platforms, Such As Qualys, Tenable, Or Rapid7.

  • Proficiency In Scripting And Automation Languages, Such As Python, Bash, Or Powershell, To Develop And Maintain Automated Vulnerability Scanning And Remediation Processes.

  • Strong Understanding Of It Security Principles And Best Practices, With A Focus On Vulnerability Management And Remediation Strategies.

  • Proven Track Record Of Implementing And Maintaining Vulnerability Management Processes And Procedures In A Large-Scale Enterprise Environment.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Cross-Functional Teams And Communicate Technical Concepts To Non-Technical Stakeholders.
