  1. Lead the development and maintenance of the Geico Auto Insurance Billing Platform.
  2. Utilize strong problem-solving skills to design and implement innovative and efficient solutions.
  3. Collaborate with a team of talented engineers to drive the development of critical systems.
  4. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve the Billing Platform.
  6. Take ownership of the entire software development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing and deployment.
  7. Ensure the quality, performance, and scalability of the Billing Platform.
  8. Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand business needs.
  9. Identify and resolve any technical issues or roadblocks that may arise during development.
  10. Contribute to the development of coding standards and best practices.
  11. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress.
  12. Participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality code standards.
  13. Continuously improve and optimize existing systems to enhance functionality and user experience.
  14. Lead and participate in agile development processes to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  15. Actively seek and implement opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.
  16. Train and mentor team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
  17. Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement opportunities for system integration and automation.
  18. Conduct research and make recommendations for new technologies and tools to improve the Billing Platform.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Backend Software Development: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 8+ Years Of Experience In Developing Backend Systems Using Languages Such As Java, Python, Or C++. They Should Also Have A Strong Understanding Of Database Design And Sql.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Billing Platforms: The Senior Staff Software Engineer Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Billing Platforms And Systems, Including Their Architecture, Functionalities, And Integrations. They Should Be Able To Leverage This Knowledge To Design, Develop And Maintain A Robust Billing Platform For Geico.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Analyze Complex Problems And Come Up With Effective Solutions. The Candidate Should Be Able To Troubleshoot Issues In A Timely Manner And Provide Recommendations For Improvement.

  • Team Leadership And Collaboration: As A Senior Member Of The Team, The Candidate Should Have Experience Leading And Mentoring A Team Of Software Engineers. They Should Also Possess Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams To Deliver High-Quality Software Solutions.

  • Knowledge Of Agile Methodologies: Geico Follows Agile Methodologies For Software Development, And The Senior Staff Software Engineer Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Agile Principles And Practices. They Should Also Have Experience Working In An Agile Environment And Be Able To Drive The Team Towards Continuous Improvement.
